We found this tour to be a great way to see a large portion of the island. The tour starts with a very comfortable, air-conditioned van ride from Kahalui through the rain forest on the Road to Hana. There are several stops along the way for photo ops - whether it be waterfalls, lush scenery, the seven pools, the coastline or the black sand beach. The driver is a friendly and knowledgeable guide, and shares lots of information on the trees, flowers, rain forest, water supply system, as well as the history of the island.
After a delicious lunch, board the helicopter at the Hana aiport for a thrilling ride over Haleakala, the rain forest, close to the waterfalls, and out over Molokini. The pilot is also a very knowledgeable guide, and provides commentary during the entire flight.
NOTE: The Road to Hana is very narrow and has quite a few hairpin turns. The helicopter flight isn't exactly straight and level. If you have even a little motion sickness - take precautions!
